Yuri on Ice
Yuri on Ice is all about figure skating as it was a Japanese sports anime series on television. It premiered as a series in October of 2016 and ended rather quickly with only 12 episodes in December of the same year. Yuri on ice is about Yuri Katsuki who is a figure skater and the ins and outs of the relationships among Yuri, Victor Nikiforov, who is a Russian figure skating champion and Yuri’s coach, and another Yuri. Yuri Plisetsky is a young, up-and-coming Russian skater.Â
The two Yuris compete in the Figure Skating Grand Prix. Yuri on Ice got rave reviews. It was well received and welcomed in Japan as the awards rolled in from the Tokyo Anime Award Festival and the Japan Character Award; along with seven awards in Crunchyroll’s inaugural Anime Awards.Â
